As a young girl growing up in northern Quebec, Canada, the winters were long, very long, and I spent much of that time reading books (French and English) and imagining the outside world. There were always a lot of family around and I would listen to their stories of life. My father being Irish and my mother being french, the stories were sometimes in English, sometimes in french, and sometimes a little of both. My two younger brothers and I would create snow castles, or skate on the neighbor’s home made pond. Then after working at the company town plant, I got a chance to go to Montreal and work. Wow, the big city and here I am. But two years later, got married and moved to the USA. Four kids later, and eight grand children and wonderful years of all of them growing up; It’s my time.
